Legal Counsel – Payments (In‑House/Private Practice)

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing global payments organisation, is seeking a Legal Counsel to support commercial, corporate and regulatory matters across multiple markets. The role will work closely with product, compliance and risk teams to enable market expansion and new product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including customer, vendor and partnership agreements.
• Provide practical legal advice on day‑to‑day commercial and regulatory issues.
• Support product launches, market expansion initiatives and strategic partnerships from a legal and regulatory perspective.
• Advise on payments, financial services and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk and business teams to manage legal and regulatory risks.
• Assist with corporate governance matters, internal policies and legal documentation.
• Manage external legal counsel when required and monitor regulatory developments.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with at least 4 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, financial services or a leading law firm.
• Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Good understanding of payments and financial services regulations.
• Commercially minded with strong business partnering abilities.
• Singapore citizen or permanent resident.
