Marine Safety Assistant Technician – Up to $5K/month

About the role

The Marine Safety Assistant Technician ensures high‑quality installation, maintenance and repair of Survitec safety equipment, primarily inflatable life rafts. You will work on‑site and in the workshop, balancing technical expertise with a safety‑first mindset while supporting continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of inflatable life rafts and related safety gear in line with SOLAS and manufacturer specifications.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as patching, valve servicing, pressure testing and component replacement.
• Repack life rafts, verifying that all contents are present and functional.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for each unit serviced.
• Assist with receipt, storage and dispatch of life rafts and related equipment.
• Potentially provide on‑site servicing for vessels as required.

Required profile

• Problem‑solving ability to simplify complex information and make timely decisions.
• Accountability and ownership of commitments, delivering results under pressure.
• Strong communication skills for building customer relationships and clear internal reporting.
• Drive and agility to approach challenges with urgency while maintaining efficient processes.
• Preferably holds a valid forklift licence.
