Senior Accountant – Shipping Industry (Singapore)

About the role

The company is a global shipping multinational seeking an experienced accountant to join its Fleet Management department in Singapore. The role involves delivering accurate financial accounting, budgeting, and audit support while complying with internal policies and external regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, analysing vessel OPEX and management costs.
• Consolidate financial performance of the group, subsidiaries and associated companies for audits and reporting.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting for vessel capex and dry‑dock projects, as well as charter hire, bunker inventory and insurance accounting.
• Coordinate annual budgeting, periodic forecasts, flash reporting, and prepare BOD and EXCO presentation packs.
• Liaise with statutory auditors, address audit queries and ensure minimal audit points.
• Handle GST registration, quarterly returns and liaise with tax agents on corporate tax filings.
• Identify workflow improvements, design system‑generated reports and participate in process‑enhancement projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy or Commerce.
• 5‑10+ years of relevant accounting experience, including full‑set accounts, fixed‑asset accounting, tax compliance and management reporting.
• Prior audit experience and exposure to the shipping industry are advantageous.
• Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, able to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Stable employment history with no frequent job changes.
