Threat Detection Analyst – Japanese & English

About the role

Fastly’s Customer Security Operations Center (CSOC) is looking for a Threat Detection Analyst who is fluent in Japanese and English. The analyst will monitor and analyze customer activity, focusing on application‑layer attacks and providing expert security response for Fastly’s edge cloud platform.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze customer traffic to detect account‑takeover, bot attacks and WAF issues.
• Provide deep application‑security expertise on escalated cases from customers and automated systems.
• Conduct continuous‑improvement research to enhance Fastly’s security products and operations.
• Develop and maintain security reporting and content for customer environments.
• Contribute to processes and policies that scale the organization as it grows.
• Mentor team members and ensure outstanding response to security incidents.

Required profile

• Prior experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.
• Strong infosec background with practical application‑security skills.
• Experience in IT or security technical support, operations or research roles.
• Unix/Linux or Windows system administration experience.
• Ability to work independently while mentoring others.
• Fluent spoken and written English; Japanese language proficiency required.
• Customer‑focused mindset and strong troubleshooting abilities.

Required skills

• Python, Java, Go, Rust, PHP, C# or Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• SaaS/Cloud or hybrid‑cloud deployment knowledge.
• Web server platforms such as Apache, NGINX or IIS.
• Application security techniques and tools.
• Unix/Linux and Windows system administration.
