User Safety & Risk Operations Analyst - Global Response (Weekend Shift)

About the role

OpenAI’s Global Safety Response Operations team provides 24/7 coverage for user safety, risk, and regulatory escalations across its products. As a User Safety & Risk Operations Analyst you will triage and resolve urgent, high‑priority cases, work across multiple systems, and help improve processes and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Handle and resolve high‑priority cases across all harm and risk areas, ensuring timely resolution in line with policy and legal requirements.
• Operate across multiple tools to manage user reports, tickets, internal escalations, and investigations.
• Act as incident manager for escalations requiring nuanced policy, legal, or regulatory interpretation.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to increase efficiency and coverage.
• Conduct quality reviews and provide feedback to improve consistency across global teams.
• Analyze trends and generate insights from escalation data to inform policy, product, or detection improvements.
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation, including weekend coverage.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in trust & safety, content moderation, investigations, fraud, or developer risk operations.
• Experience in incident response, law‑enforcement response, or escalations management.
• Deep domain expertise in at least one specialization area with familiarity of relevant legal, policy, and technical frameworks.
• Proven track record of scaling operations, building processes, and working cross‑functionally.
• Exceptional analytical skills to detect patterns, assess risk, and recommend policy or product changes.
• Strong communication skills with clarity, empathy, and precision in sensitive contexts.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, high‑autonomy environments while balancing speed and diligence.
