VP Compliance – Corporate & Trade Finance

About the role

We are seeking a Vice President of Compliance to lead the Singapore compliance function for an established international wholesale bank. The role combines senior AML/CFT oversight with trade finance governance, reporting directly to senior management and the Head Office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Singapore compliance function, manage a small team and provide regular updates to local senior management and Head Office stakeholders.
• Act as the branch Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), overseeing AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC, transaction monitoring, investigations, high‑risk escalations and suspicious transaction reporting.
• Monitor Singapore regulatory developments, conduct gap assessments and implement relevant policies, procedures and Head Office requirements.
• Advise senior management on regulatory matters, business initiatives and material compliance risks while overseeing compliance monitoring, regulatory engagements, training and remediation.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of compliance experience within banking, preferably in wholesale, corporate or international banking.
• Strong grounding in Singapore financial crime compliance frameworks and prior experience in an MLRO, Deputy MLRO or senior AML/CFT leadership role.
• Broad experience across AML/CFT, sanctions, regulatory compliance, governance, monitoring and senior stakeholder advisory.
• Mandatory strong trade finance knowledge, proven leadership ability and confidence engaging with senior management, regulators and Head Office.
