Accountant – Contractor / Project Accounting / WIP

About the role

Our client, a leading main contractor in Singapore, is seeking a meticulous Accountant to manage day‑to‑day finance operations, project accounting, and group consolidation across multiple entities. The role is ideal for candidates with experience in WIP, project accounting, and multi‑entity finance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage AP/AR, intercompany transactions, bank reconciliations and month‑end closing for several entities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, audit schedules and ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements.
• Support group and joint‑venture consolidation, including entries, schedules and reporting updates.
• Coordinate annual statutory audits, group reporting and statutory filings, liaising with auditors and tax advisors.
• Prepare management reports, variance analysis and assist with budgeting and rolling forecasts.
• Oversee treasury activities such as cash‑flow monitoring, working‑capital management and bank settlements.
• Liaise with the Company Secretary on corporate secretarial matters and maintain entity records.
• Ensure strong internal controls, support system‑related accounting matters and guide junior team members.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, contractor or project‑accounting environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and with multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience with financial systems such as Yardi, Cognos or SAP.
