Associate Consultant – Ophthalmology

About the role

The Associate Consultant in Ophthalmology will support the Chairman, Medical Board and Head of Department in delivering high‑quality eye care across multiple subspecialties. Working within the NUHS network, you will have access to a collaborative environment that blends clinical practice, research and education.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive ophthalmic consultations and manage patients in glaucoma, cataract, oculoplastic and retinal services.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and contribute to departmental policy development.
• Assist in teaching and mentoring junior doctors and trainees.
• Engage in clinical research projects and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Occasionally be deployed to other NUHS institutions to meet service needs.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist training in Ophthalmology.
• Board certification or equivalent recognition by the Ministry of Health.
• Strong commitment to patient‑centred care and continuous learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a large integrated health system.
