MOE START Applied Research Fellowship – Health & Social Sciences

About the role

The Singapore Teaching and Academic Research Talent (START) Scheme, co‑funded by the Ministry of Education and SIT, offers a one‑year Applied Research Fellowship for outstanding Singaporean doctoral candidates in health and social sciences. Fellows will conduct advanced research at a leading overseas university while receiving mentorship from SIT faculty.

Key responsibilities

• Engage in advanced research projects aligned with SIT’s supported health and social science areas.
• Collaborate with overseas supervisors and SIT faculty mentors to produce translational research outcomes.

Required profile

• Singapore citizen who is a doctoral candidate about to complete or has recently completed a PhD in a supported discipline.
• Accepted or applied for post‑doctoral training at a leading overseas university and demonstrates strong motivation for an academic career.

Required skills

• Excellent academic record and high proficiency in the selected research area.
• Ability to work independently in an international research environment.
