Regional Tax Accountant – APAC (Indirect Tax & Automation)

About the role

We are seeking a Regional Tax Accountant to join the APAC tax team of a global commodity trading MNC. The role focuses on indirect tax compliance, tax system automation and supports direct tax and transfer pricing activities across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate and optimise tax technology solutions, collaborating with IT to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Tri­age tax issues raised by users, identify root causes and drive resolutions.
• Participate in implementation projects for the in‑house tax engine and new e‑invoicing schemes.
• Support regional tax risk management, primarily for Singapore entities, and streamline tax processes.
• Prepare tax schedules, manage compliance reporting and payment deadlines for GST, VAT, CIT, WHT and transfer pricing.
• Assist in monthly tax provisions and respond to tax authority information requests.
• Document tax work‑processes, internal controls and provide training on process improvements.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of corporate tax and/or GST/VAT experience, preferably from a Big 4 audit firm or an MNC.
• Hands‑on experience with tax technology solutions and system automation.
• Strong knowledge of APAC indirect tax regulations, especially Singapore.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with finance, IT and business stakeholders.
