Specialist in Paediatric/Emergency Medicine

About the role

The National University Hospital is seeking a Specialist in Paediatric/Emergency Medicine to join its Paediatric Emergency Department. This position focuses on delivering high‑quality care to children and adolescents in a fast‑paced emergency setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct Paediatric and Adolescent emergency care in the Paediatric ED.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams in stabilising and resuscitating critically ill or injured patients, including complex medical and surgical cases.
• Develop expertise across polytrauma, disaster medicine, orthopaedics, psychiatry, wound management, burns, ENT and ophthalmology.
• Work a rotating shift pattern covering day, afternoon, evening and night shifts in both the Children’s Emergency and Urgent Care Clinic.
• Supervise junior doctors, guide case management and deliver educational sessions on paediatric emergency topics.
• Conduct clinical research in Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
• Drive quality‑improvement initiatives, national health programmes and community outreach activities.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent recognised by the Singapore Medical Council.
• MRCPCH qualification.
• Minimum two years experience in a Paediatric Emergency Department or a comparable role treating patients under 18.
• Open to candidates of any nationality; not limited to Singaporeans or Permanent Residents.
