General Insurance Pricing & Ops Advisory Manager / Senior Manager

About the role

EY's Financial Services Organization works with insurers, reinsurers and insurance intermediaries to solve complex business challenges and drive transformation. This Manager / Senior Manager role in General Insurance (non-life / property & casualty) is for experienced industry professionals with strong expertise in underwriting, claims, pricing, reinsurance and/or distribution, and is not aimed at actuaries. You will work directly with senior client stakeholders, lead strategic and transformation engagements and help shape the future of the insurance industry across Singapore and the wider region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of insurance-focused consulting and advisory engagements.
• Advise clients on business strategy, operating model transformation and performance improvement.
• Help clients improve underwriting, claims, reinsurance, distribution and operational capabilities.
• Drive large-scale transformation programmes, including process optimisation, target operating model design and technology-enabled change.
• Run stakeholder workshops and present recommendations to senior executives.
• Manage project teams and coach and develop junior team members.
• Support business development, including proposals, client pursuits and relationship management.
• Contribute to thought leadership and market-leading initiatives in the insurance sector.

Required profile

• Manager: minimum 7 years of relevant insurance industry experience; Senior Manager / Director: typically 10+ years.
• Experience in General Insurance (property & casualty), including commercial lines, personal lines, specialty insurance, reinsurance or insurance broking.
• Deep expertise in one or more disciplines such as commercial or personal lines underwriting, claims management, reinsurance, product development, distribution, broker management, insurance operations, customer experience, portfolio management or insurance broking.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Ideally: experience leading transformation or change initiatives, exposure to digital transformation, data analytics or technology implementation, previous consulting or project-based experience, an established insurance network and experience supporting sales, proposals or business development.
