Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

Kennedys is seeking an Accountant to join its Finance team in Singapore. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will own the accounts receivable function, ensure compliance with Singapore GST and international accounting standards, and support multi‑entity reporting for a dynamic international law firm.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable, including billing, collection and allocation of client payments.
• Monitor outstanding receivables, follow up with clients, partners and matter teams to secure timely collections.
• Review billing write‑offs, unbilled disbursements and investigate significant movements each month.
• Prepare and analyse accounts receivable ageing reports for management.
• Reconcile client accounts and resolve billing or payment discrepancies.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities related to receivables.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore GST requirements and overall accounting standards.
• Assist audits by providing documentation and reconciliations.
• Mentor junior finance staff and review their work for accuracy and deadlines.
• Identify and implement process improvements for receivable controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• 5‑7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore GST regulations.
• Understanding of international accounting standards and internal controls.
