Accountant (Hybrid, Singapore)

About the role

Aqua Expeditions, a luxury cruise operator offering customized trips focused on culture, wildlife and cuisine, is hiring an Accountant based in Singapore on a hybrid arrangement. The role handles vendor and client communication, inventory and records, financial reporting, cheque issuance and deposits, and keeps office operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Accounts receivable: monitor daily collections, inform the reservation team so invoices are entered correctly and on time, bill sales orders after checking the reservation report and close sales invoices; register on-board sales if any.
• Accounts payable: prepare purchase orders, register invoices to the right accounts and keep the payable list with due dates, pay suppliers weekly via online banking, register payments and email payment vouchers.
• Cash management: manage petty cash, prepare the weekly cash and bank position and support the monthly cash flow forecast.
• Month-end closing: reconcile bank and payment gateway accounts, register bank interest and charges, post accrual, depreciation and prepayment journal entries, coordinate intercompany entries with subsidiaries and help with intercompany reconciliation.
• Other: liaise with subsidiaries, banks and suppliers, file documents properly, visit the bank if needed and carry out ad-hoc admin tasks.

Required profile

• Singaporean or Permanent Resident only.
• University degree in Accounting, Business or a related field.
• Desired 4-5 years of extensive relevant experience in the hospitality industry.
• Written and spoken English proficiency; clear communicator, good team player, honest, reliable and self-motivated.
