AI Engineer - FM Digital Platform

About the role

An AI Engineer is sought to design, develop and operationalise AI-powered capabilities within the FX Platform ecosystem, working across Facilities Management, Smart District and enterprise applications. You will build intelligent search, conversational assistants, document intelligence and workflow automation solutions, combining modern AI engineering with cloud-native development. The role works closely with product managers, service designers, software engineers and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Build intelligent assistants, copilots and conversational interfaces, and RAG solutions for enterprise knowledge retrieval
• Implement AI-powered search, recommendations, summarisation and insights generation
• Design enterprise search and knowledge retrieval pipelines, and evolve AskJess and related knowledge services
• Develop document classification, extraction, verification and automated tagging solutions
• Expose AI capabilities via APIs and reusable services, integrating with workflow systems and data sources
• Optimise prompts, retrieval strategies and orchestration patterns, and build evaluation frameworks
• Ensure compliance with security, governance and data classification requirements, and monitor model performance and risks
• Deploy AI workloads on Microsoft Azure, build CI/CD pipelines and optimise service performance and cost

Required profile

• Experience developing enterprise AI solutions with modern LLM frameworks and AI services
• Strong understanding of RAG, prompt engineering, semantic search, AI agents, vector databases and knowledge retrieval
• Experience with one or more Azure AI services (OpenAI, AI Search, AI Foundry, Document Intelligence, Language Services, Azure Machine Learning)
• Proficiency in Python, APIs and microservices, and cloud-native development
• Experience with structured and unstructured data, document repositories, data pipelines and metadata indexing
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
• Preferred: enterprise search, AI assistants/copilots, knowledge management platforms, government or enterprise digital transformation projects, and familiarity with facilities management or smart estate technologies
