Application Developer

About the role

BCS, a subsidiary of NETS, manages the clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including FAST, Inter-bank GIRO, Cheque Truncation System, PayNow and SGQR. The Application Developer works in the Application Delivery (Change) department of the Technology Division, which maintains and supports BCS applications and their infrastructure. The developer designs and delivers scalable, secure, business-aligned solutions, covering development, design, prototyping and support of delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support including prototyping and coding
• Build proof-of-concepts (POCs)
• Build Java and web applications on AWS and on-premises
• Support build, deployment and testing phases
• Ensure compliance with security and best practices
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Conduct performance and capacity assessments and solve engineering problems

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience building and managing critical applications; fresh graduates with strong technical skills are welcome
• Hands-on, detailed and a team player with strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

Required skills

• Java technologies such as Spring Boot / Spring Batch
• React JS / Angular JS
• AWS cloud experience (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, ECS, CloudWatch)
• Oracle 19c and Tomcat
• ServiceNow development is an added advantage
• AWS Cloud certifications (Solutions Architect Associate or Developer Associate) are preferred
