Assistant Director – Governance & Corporate Finance

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Director to lead governance and corporate finance activities within the Finance Division. The role supports daily finance operations, year‑end closing, and statutory reporting while driving process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee MTI‑HQ daily finance operations, including payment processing, deposit recording, fixed‑asset and journal transactions, and vendor system updates.
• Manage year‑end closing activities and the corporate credit‑card programme.
• Review monthly reconciliations, post‑payment checks, and ensure timely submission of financial returns to government agencies.
• Monitor, analyse, and present financial metrics to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, government regulations, and instruction manuals.
• Engage stakeholders through forums, workshops, and brown‑bag sessions.
• Collaborate on audit, policy, and process queries with internal and external parties.
• Identify finance process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Supervise Statutory Board finance operations, including revenue processing, reconciliation, and investment monitoring.
• Prepare quarterly/half‑yearly performance reports, annual estimates, and financial statements in line with Statutory Board reporting standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work or supervisory experience.
• Experience in Singapore Public Service and familiarity with Government Instruction Manuals and platforms such as NFS@Gov is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Self‑driven, responsible and capable of working both independently and in a team.
