About the role
The Assistant Director, Portfolio Management at NTUitive will oversee the governance, compliance, and performance of the university’s portfolio of spin‑offs and startups, acting as the primary liaison between portfolio companies and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure portfolio companies meet legal, statutory, financial, and reporting obligations required by the university and relevant authorities.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of equity holdings, investments, funding instruments, corporate actions and contractual obligations.
- Review adherence to IP policy, investment governance processes and internal audit requirements.
- Act as corporate representative for portfolio companies, managing shareholder matters and governance interactions.
- Maintain a consolidated investment portfolio record capturing equity stakes, valuations, funding rounds, company status and milestones.
- Curate portfolio data within the CRM system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for reporting and decision‑making.
- Develop and maintain dashboards that provide clear views of portfolio performance, risk exposure, valuation and company progress.
- Communicate upcoming corporate actions and flag material portfolio developments to management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for portfolio companies, facilitating regular engagement, updates and relationship‑building.
- Support portfolio companies in accessing funding and growth opportunities and contribute to new technology transfer initiatives.
- Provide executive support to the Associate Vice President (Technology Transfer).
Required profile
- Proven experience in managing portfolios of startups or spin‑offs, preferably in an academic or technology transfer environment.
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance, risk management and IP policy.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, analyse data and produce management reports.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working with internal university structures and external investors.
