Assistant Manager, Facilities Management

About the role

The Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), an autonomous institute of the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), is recruiting an Assistant Manager, Facilities Management. Reporting to the Principal Manager, Finance & Resource Planning, the successful candidate will work with internal stakeholders and outsourced service providers to keep IAL's facilities maintained and operationally ready. The post is based at the IAL campus near Paya Lebar MRT.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate facilities matters within IAL's premises, including preventive and corrective maintenance, with building management and service vendors.
• Oversee the upkeep and readiness of training rooms and workplace facilities to support programmes and daily operations.
• Manage facilities-related contracts and supervise outsourced service providers to meet service standards.
• Coordinate renovation, upgrading and improvement works where required.
• Oversee premises security arrangements and systems such as CCTV and access control.
• Manage facilities-related budgets and expenses for cost-effective operations.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices.
• Support Business Continuity Management by coordinating facilities preparedness and response for disruptions or emergencies.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with safety, health and regulatory requirements.
• Take on other duties, including cross-divisional projects, as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of relevant working experience.
• Resourceful team player and leader with initiative, able to work independently.
• Good time management, professionalism and integrity.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Familiarity with most Microsoft Office applications.
