Associate QC Manager

About the role

West Pharmaceutical Services is hiring an Associate QC Manager for an onsite position in Jurong, Singapore. The team member must be present for all scheduled workdays, and no relocation assistance is provided. The role is accountable for the day-to-day performance of team safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage teams of QC Technicians and Team Leads, covering execution of QC processes, scheduling and personnel so that operations run smoothly and comply with requirements.
• Oversee resource management and team schedules, meet daily inspection targets and support Work In Progress (WIP) controls.
• Ensure proper product release and rework activities per procedures, and lead product characteristic trend monitoring with escalation and follow-up.
• Manage deviation and out-of-spec report closures, batch dispositions, and root cause analysis and CAPA identification; review SOI revisions to improve workflow.
• Coach and counsel QC employees, manage onboarding, training and requalification, and resolve employee relations issues.
• Take part in safety and quality improvement initiatives, site initiatives such as safety programs and lean, and manage non-routine requests such as validations, investigations, product transfers and non-conformance reports.
• Provide on-time operational updates for Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 2.5 and Tier 3 of the LDMS system, attend Tier 2 and Tier 2.5 as QC representative and facilitate Tier 1 (shift start-up).

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field.
• Preferably 8 years of experience in QA/QC activities and at least 5 years managing a QC team.
• Exposure to a medical device, pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with rotating shifts, overtime and on-call duty, and occasional other shift patterns.
• Minimum 20/30 vision at near and/or far with at least one eye, with or without correction, and no colour deficiency.

Required skills

• Knowledge of standard operating procedures and the company's safety and quality policies.
• Support for Lean Sigma programmes and continuous improvement.
• Preferred: SAP, cGMP, basic Lean and/or ISO experience.
