AVP Finance Operations – Life Insurance (Contract)

About the role

The company, a well‑established life insurer, seeks an Assistant Vice President to lead finance operations on a contract basis. You will own the month‑end close, balance‑sheet substantiation, and act as the finance subject‑matter expert for system changes and process automation across distribution, health, and fixed‑asset lines.

Key responsibilities

• Execute monthly book close in line with group and local regulatory timelines.
• Perform balance‑sheet substantiation and reconciliation, reducing aging and resolving breaks.
• Represent finance in discussions on interface exceptions between policy administration systems and the general ledger.
• Scope, plan, and deliver IT‑driven finance projects from milestone planning through execution.
• Manage commission and distribution accounting, partnering with Distribution Support and Performance Management.
• Maintain EUC controls and drive ongoing control enhancements.

Required profile

• 4–5 years of finance operations experience, preferably within life insurance.
• Proven track record leading finance transformation or IT‑enabled control improvement projects.
• Experience with life‑insurance commission and distribution cost booking is a strong plus.
• Comfort working across general‑ledger and policy‑admin systems.
• Degree in accounting or finance.
