Blast Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Blast Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team at Surbana Jurong’s SJ Campus. You will design, analyse and plan protective solutions for buildings and infrastructure against explosion and dynamic effects, working from concept through to project completion.

Key responsibilities

• Design, analyse and plan structural engineering works.
• Design, analyse and plan protection of buildings and infrastructure from blast loading and other dynamic effects.
• Design, analyse and plan security system engineering works.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors and authorities throughout project life‑cycle.
• Prepare and submit plans, reports and tender specifications on time.
• Manage projects to meet time, cost and quality objectives.
• Coordinate site progress, conduct inspections and attend construction meetings.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineers Board.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Tekla and ETABs.
• Knowledge of design and analysis of structures under dynamic loading (blast, shock, vibration) is advantageous.
• Understanding of modern electronic security technologies is a plus.
• Strong interest in counter‑terrorism and homeland security.
• Good communication, teamwork and self‑motivation.
