Business Development Engineer – Marine & Ship Repair

About the role

HSM Marine Engineering is seeking a results‑driven Business Development Engineer to grow its marine and ship‑repair services across Singapore and regional markets. Based on‑site in Singapore, you will lead client engagement, market expansion, and commercial coordination for a range of engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the marine, offshore, and shipping sectors.
• Promote HSM Marine’s capabilities in ship repair, mechanical maintenance, piping, steel works, and afloat repair.
• Build and maintain relationships with ship owners, managers, technical superintendents, and procurement teams.
• Attend vessel visits, client meetings, shipyards, and industry networking events.
• Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, and service presentations in collaboration with internal teams.
• Follow up on inquiries, tenders, and ongoing projects to secure growth.
• Coordinate closely with operations and technical teams to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
• Monitor market trends, vessel movements, docking schedules, and competitor activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the marine or engineering industry.
• Strong understanding of ship repair, marine services, or technical marine operations (preferred).
• Existing network of contacts with ship owners, operators, or technical departments.
