Chemical Technician

About the role

This role leads material and component analysis using standard chemical and laboratory instruments, oversees complex equipment maintenance and repair, and manages the laboratory's day-to-day operations. It works with minimal supervision, addresses quality assurance issues and helps standardize global processes while adhering to established standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze materials and components for research, product development and manufacturing using chemical and laboratory instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot errors, perform complex equipment repairs and carry out preventive maintenance on a wide range of machinery.
• Maintain analytical equipment precisely and generate detailed statistical reports for excursion management systems.
• Resolve site-specific quality assurance issues by escalating them to program and quality managers.
• Manage daily lab operations, including supply orders, equipment maintenance and a tidy workspace.
• Follow workplace safety guidelines and complete mandatory safety training.
• Collaborate with teams to improve operations and standardize processes globally.
• Protect data confidentiality, share technical information and support departmental plans.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, higher secondary education or equivalent work experience.
• Typically 6-8 years of related experience, preferably operating analytical instruments, running chemical laboratory procedures or in a related field.
• Ability to solve problems independently with forward planning and minimal supervision.
