Circularity Innovation Engineer

About the role

HP is looking for a Circularity Innovation Engineer in Singapore to lead the end-to-end engineering, innovation and deployment of circularity solutions across its products and packaging, with a primary focus on packaging transformation, recycled and renewable materials, electronics, reuse, repair and takeback. The role drives HP's circular economy strategy by embedding circularity into product design, supply chain operations and digital data systems, contributing to the company's 2030 and 2040 management frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Circular packaging: develop renewable and recyclable packaging, replace single-use plastics with fiber-based and bio-based materials, optimize design and ensure compliance with EPR, California SB54 and EU PPWR
• Recycled and renewable materials: increase use of post-consumer recycled plastics, recycled metals, responsibly sourced bio-based and fiber-based materials, and closed-loop and ocean-bound materials, and support supplier certification
• Design for circularity: embed durability, modularity, repairability, upgradeability and disassembly into product design with R&D teams, aligning with ecolabels
• Reuse, repair and takeback: advance repair and refurbishment systems, device life extension, reverse supply chain optimization and reuse of products and components
• Data and digital systems: build packaging and product data sources, sustainability reporting and near real-time BOM-level reporting, supporting EU CSRD/ESRS reporting
• Cross-functional leadership: collaborate with engineering, procurement, supply chain and sustainability teams, engage suppliers and drive end-to-end execution

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Packaging, Environmental or related)
• 8-12+ years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated expertise in circular economy and sustainable materials, packaging engineering and/or materials science, and recycled/renewable materials
• Experience across global supply chains
• Preferred: Master's degree, electronics/manufacturing/consumer hardware experience, knowledge of CSRD/ESRS and ecolabels, LCA and circular services experience

• Pay range of $116,150 to $182,400 USD annually, with possible bonus and/or equity for US candidates
