Data Centre Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Data Centre Engineer to lead the operation and maintenance of our client’s data centre facilities in Singapore. The role involves ensuring reliable performance of mechanical and electrical systems, handling emergencies, and driving energy‑efficiency initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee quality operations and maintenance services, including preventive, corrective, addition, alteration and renovation works performed by contractors and subcontractors.
• Respond to emergencies, incidents and planned shutdown maintenance on weekdays, weekends and public holidays as required.
• Monitor data centre performance and propose recommendations to improve power usage efficiency.
• Conduct energy optimisation studies and recommend improvements such as airflow management, containment strategies and set‑point optimisation.
• Develop and improve maintenance SOPs and work processes, collaborating with the Operations team to implement EOPs/MOPs for mechanical interventions.
• Assist the client/authority in assessing work proposals and provide technical input.
• Participate in risk assessments, failure‑mode analysis and incident investigations related to cooling systems.
• Ensure all works comply with relevant standards, contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Review root‑cause analyses of incidents and contribute to recovery plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience maintaining electrical, mechanical and fire‑protection systems in a data centre environment.
• Relevant industry certifications are an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience with MEP equipment such as CAHU, CRAC, ACMV systems, pumps, cooling towers, UPS and generators.
• Strong technical expertise in thermal management, cooling load calculations and energy‑efficiency improvements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

• Competitive salary ranging from SGD 3,500 to SGD 5,200 per month.
