Dental Therapist, School Dental Service

About the role

The Health Promotion Board's School Dental Service provides oral health care to school-going children so they can stay healthy and fit for learning. As a Dental Therapist you will be a key member of the team, helping set a foundation for oral health among children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dental examinations and diagnosis, give educational talks and manage the mobile dental clinic
• Clean, scale and polish teeth, apply fissure sealants and restore permanent and primary teeth
• Extract primary teeth under local anaesthetic
• Track and update pupils' clinical records and set the standards of customer service

Required profile

• Diploma in Oral Health that can be registered with the Singapore Dental Council
• Dynamic and self-motivated
• Able to build close rapport with children, parents and school staff
• Able to work independently and in a team

Required skills

• Proficiency in clinical skills
• Effective social and communication skills
• Time management, planning and organisational skills
• Relevant IT knowledge and skills are an added advantage

Successful candidates are offered a 2-year contract initially, with possible renewal depending on criteria.
