Deputy Director / Assistant Director, Enforcement (Investigator) - 3-Year Contract

About the role

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is recruiting an investigator for its Enforcement Department on a 3-year contract. The role investigates offences and regulatory breaches under MAS-administered Acts, and the incumbent is gazetted as a Commercial Affairs Officer with criminal investigative powers under the MAS-CAD Joint Investigation Arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Gather evidence thoroughly, conduct interviews, handle bail procedures and prepare detailed case files.
• Provide litigation support to the Attorney-General's Chambers in criminal prosecutions and civil penalty court actions.
• Enforce regulatory actions, such as issuing prohibition orders preventing offenders from working in Singapore's financial industry, and handle regulatory appeals.
• Specialise in market abuse cases, including insider trading, market manipulation and breaches of continuous disclosure under Part XII of the Securities and Futures Act.
• Work closely with fellow investigators, market surveillance analysts, computer forensic specialists, legal officers, officers from the Commercial Affairs Department, market experts and Deputy Public Prosecutors.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of working experience.
• Interest in investigation work.
• Prior relevant experience is an added advantage.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to change in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Strong analytical, communication and writing skills.
• Ability to be innovative and creative in solving problems.
