Deputy/Assistant Manager, Cross Border Rail Regulation

About the role

The Cross Border Rail Regulation division oversees the safety and security regulatory matters for cross-border rail projects under the Cross-Border Railways Act, such as the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, and also supports domestic rail lines. As a Deputy/Assistant Manager, you will join a dynamic team and take direct responsibility for regulatory oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review bilateral regulatory requirements to ensure safe and reliable cross-border train services.
• Monitor rail operators' performance in running and maintaining rail networks, analyse regulatory reports, assess service reliability and safety verification, and coordinate and facilitate rail incident investigations.
• Support rail reliability computation processes and data.
• Verify operators' submissions and carry out audits.

Required profile

• Knowledge in engineering.
• Highly adaptable team player able to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to engage and manage multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, astute, meticulous and resourceful in addressing policy and operations matters.
• Good time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent writing, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership skills and relevant experience in rail systems are an added advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
