Deputy/Assistant Manager, Testing & Investigation (Autonomous Mobility)

About the role

The Centre for Autonomous Mobility (CAM) leads the national initiative to facilitate autonomous vehicle trials and deployment in Singapore. It is looking for a Deputy / Assistant Manager, Testing & Investigation to help develop and implement assessment frameworks and testing protocols for autonomous vehicles, ensuring their safe and responsible deployment. The role combines technical expertise, regulatory understanding, testing knowledge and a safety mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to testing methodologies for different AV platforms, remote operations, expansion of operation areas and batch testing, using systems engineering and safety assurance principles.
• Supervise M1 tests and reviews during the Deployment Readiness Assessment (DRA) phase, evaluate testing outcomes and recommend to management.
• Analyse AV platforms and systems, assess data from testing and operations, and advise on compliance with Singaporean regulations.
• Work with industry stakeholders, international bodies and regulators to harmonize AV standards.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders on regulations, testing methodologies and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Knowledge of a relevant engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Robotics, Controls, Aerospace) or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong grasp of systems engineering principles, including verification and validation.
• Experience in test planning and experimental design, with emphasis on safety and repeatability.
• Understanding of autonomous driving vehicles, their infrastructure and operational concepts.
• Familiarity with regulatory processes and standards setting is an advantage.
