Director, Power Infrastructure

About the role

The client is a fast‑growing data‑centre operator expanding into AI and HPC infrastructure. They are creating a global power‑infrastructure function and need a senior leader to own the strategy, secure grid access, and set engineering standards for sites across multiple continents.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the global power‑infrastructure roadmap and strategy.
• Lead engagement with utilities, transmission operators and regulators to secure grid connections for new sites.
• Conduct capacity assessments, network impact studies and negotiate connection agreements.
• Support site‑selection decisions with power‑availability and feasibility analyses.
• Provide technical leadership on substation design, transmission planning and interconnection engineering.
• Establish and enforce global power‑engineering standards and frameworks.
• Advise senior leadership on power‑investment decisions, emerging technologies and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering (Master’s/PhD preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in electrical power‑systems engineering, including transmission or sub‑transmission (≥66 kV) work.
• Proven track record of delivering grid‑connection projects for large loads, with direct utility and regulator interaction.
• Experience leading a function, team or multi‑site programme in power or grid engineering.
• Current hands‑on experience in power or grid engineering, preferably within data‑centre or large‑industrial environments.
