Distinguished Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Salesforce is seeking a senior Forward Deployed Engineer to lead complex AI agentic deployments on its Agentforce platform. The role combines hands‑on development, technical leadership, and direct client engagement to deliver end‑to‑end AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive end‑to‑end technical delivery of AI solutions, writing critical code, configuring systems, and troubleshooting while mentoring junior team members.
• Design, develop, and implement scalable production systems, including AI and Large Language Model (LLM) based intelligent agents and automated workflows on the Salesforce platform.
• Collaborate with customers to build custom intelligent agents using Agentforce, ensuring seamless integration with existing ecosystems.
• Own the full data lifecycle: design data models, build processing pipelines, and establish integration strategies for advanced AI applications.
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges across data integration, model deployment, and agent orchestration.
• Advance the Agentforce platform by developing bespoke agents, automating processes, and influencing product direction based on field insights.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience delivering high‑quality, scalable production solutions.
• Strong computer science background or related engineering discipline.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a “get‑things‑done” attitude and ability to lead technical initiatives.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency in JavaScript, Java, Python, or Apex.
• Extensive experience with AI/LLM technologies, prompt engineering, and frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Deep expertise in data modeling and integration using platforms like Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.
• Significant experience with Salesforce platform development, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and advanced configuration.
