EHS Engineer

About the role

Pfizer's Environmental Health and Safety team helps uphold the highest safety standards for patients and colleagues so that its medicines reach those who need them. As an EHS Engineer, you will help maintain these standards and support the site's license-to-operate objectives. The position is on-premise.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with EHS regulations, permits, licenses, company policies and management system requirements.
• Support EHS programs, site compliance initiatives and sustainability objectives, and conduct inspections, audits, risk assessments, JSA, environmental impact evaluations and PTW reviews.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, hazardous observations and environmental events, and track CAPA to closure.
• Manage EHS documentation, permits, licenses, training records, procedures, manuals and emergency response plans.
• Support environmental programs such as hazardous waste, chemical management, spill prevention, emissions monitoring and compliance reporting, and coordinate with waste contractors, service providers and regulators.
• Support emergency preparedness, drills, fire safety, spill response readiness, business continuity and crisis management.
• Assist in EHS reviews of facility modifications, engineering projects and management of change (MOC).
• Monitor EHS performance indicators and regulatory commitments, and promote a proactive safety culture through training, communications and contractor management.

Required profile

• BA/BS degree with any years of experience, or Associate's degree with 4+ years, or high school diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in industrial safety, especially in manufacturing facilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct local EHS training.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of computer operation and MS Office Suite.
• Bonus points: knowledge of risk assessment and control selection, cost-effective corrective action alternatives, strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Bonus points: experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot responsibly.
