Senior EHS & Loss Prevention Engineer

About the role

Pfizer Singapore is recruiting a permanent Senior EHS & Loss Prevention Engineer for the manufacturing site expansion of Pfizer Asia Manufacturing Pte Ltd (PAMPL) in Singapore. The role leads Fire Safety, Emergency Management, Business Continuity Management and Security Management systems, ensures compliance with local laws, codes of practice and Pfizer EHS and Security standards, and provides technical guidance to API plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Fire Safety Manager role under the Fire Safety Act and ensure fire protection, alarm, public address and surveillance systems are maintained and tested
• Manage contractor safety (pre-qualification, induction, safety committee) and set up the Physical Security Management System and Loss Prevention and Emergency Response programs
• Organize and train Shift Site Incident Commanders and Shift Emergency Response Teams, and lead incident investigations and drills
• Lead the Business Continuity Management program and internal audit programs for safety, contractor safety, fire safety and security
• Manage onsite contract security services within budget and liaise with regulators such as NEA, MOM, SCDF and SPF
• Support capital projects, technology transfer, commissioning and qualification, and serve as SME on safety, fire safety and regulatory compliance
• Lead cross-functional committees, participate in the country crisis management team, and lead regulatory inspections and audits

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Technology; Fire Safety Engineering is advantageous
• At least 7 years in a supervisory or leading role (e.g. Fire Safety Manager) in security or fire emergency organizations
• More than 5 years of relevant experience; pharmaceutical, petrochemical or chemical manufacturing experience is advantageous
• Good knowledge of regulatory laws, codes of practice and the National Fire Code is advantageous
