Events Manager

About the role

The Events Manager prepares all event documentation and coordinates with Sales, property departments and customers to deliver consistent, high-level service across the pre-event, event and post-event phases of property events. The role mainly covers events of average complexity and ensures a seamless handover from sales to service and back to sales, while spotting revenue opportunities through up-selling and enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage event logistics and operations: follow procedures, collaborate with colleagues, greet customers during the event and hand off details to the Event Operations team.
• Ensure billing accuracy, conduct bill reviews with clients before the final bill, and manage group room blocks and meeting space for average to large groups.
• Act as liaison between field salespeople and customers, take part in site inspections and help with the sales process.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, handle guest problems and complaints, and follow up with customers after the event.
• Lead formal pre- and post-event meetings and facilitate meetings such as Banquet Event Orders and block reviews.
• Assist sales and revenue forecasting, forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue (catering and audio-visual), and up-sell products and services.
• Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results, give feedback to employees and help implement corrective action plans.

Required profile

• 2-3 years of experience in event management or a related field, or
• a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related major, with at least 1 year of event management experience.
