Executive Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical) - Rolling Stock & Depot

About the role

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is hiring an Executive Engineer / Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical) for its Rolling Stock and Depot Engineering team. You will work alongside a team of engineers on the engineering side of rolling stock and depot equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Work on MRT trains, LRT trains, specialised track maintenance vehicles (locomotives, wagons, rail grinding vehicles, etc.) and rail depot equipment such as automatic train wash plants, automatic storage retrieval systems and underfloor wheel-lathes.
• Develop technical specifications and review design submissions from suppliers.
• Explore engineering initiatives to improve the reliability, operation and maintenance of rolling stock and depot equipment.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams across LTA, as well as with Railway Operators and contractors, supporting project teams at all stages.

Required profile

• Knowledge of electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering.
• Good understanding of the complexity of the MRT system and its interface requirements.
• Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in the engineering design of rolling stock and depot equipment.
• Team player who is analytical, resourceful and results-oriented, with self-drive and initiative to work independently.
• Willingness to gain hands-on experience on site and to perform shift work including weekends and public holidays.
• Able to travel overseas for train testing and quality inspection.
• Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
