Executive Engineer, Vehicle Technology

About the role

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is looking for an Executive Engineer / Engineer, Vehicle Technology to join the team behind its strategy for the next generation of Singapore's transport system. You will develop technical and regulatory requirements for integrating new vehicle technologies into roads and public transport, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs).

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical and regulatory requirements for ADAS and CAVs.
• Support the safety evaluation of vehicle technologies proposed for public road trials, registration and regular use.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to operationalise cybersecurity strategies and policies for CAV safety, evaluating cybersecurity risks and recommending risk mitigation measures.
• Keep up with emerging vehicle technologies to advise the project team on vehicle functional safety control measures that improve safety and roadworthiness.

Required profile

• Knowledge of related engineering fields (computer, robotics, electrical, electronics, mechanical, mechatronics, automotive or equivalent).
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in safety risk management, systems engineering and automotive-related fields.
• Interest in automotive and transportation research, with good writing and presentation skills.
• Adaptable, able to lead, work independently and multi-task in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Advantageous: experience with automotive cybersecurity risks and controls, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing and cybersecurity best practices.
• Advantageous: knowledge of cybersecurity standards and frameworks (e.g. ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 27000, NIST), in-vehicle networks (CAN/CAN-FD, Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth), programming languages (C++, Python, JavaScript, ROS) and robotic systems (computer vision, lidar, sensor fusion, motion planning and control).
• Advantageous: quality engineering (e.g. acceptable quality limit, batch testing).
