Failure Analysis Chemical Technician

About the role

HP is hiring a Failure Analysis Chemical Technician in Singapore. The role covers analysis and testing of inks and components using standard chemical and laboratory instrumentation for R&D, product development and manufacturing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Work with partners to solve analytical requests and communicate results.
• Follow good laboratory practices, including laboratory safety, instrument calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting, method development, documentation (SOP) and quality system support (R&R).
• Develop the capability of the current instrument set and handle unknown and non-routine failure analysis requests from product lines.
• Work with engineers to conduct and develop new analysis methods, and continuously improve test methodology and tools for productivity and efficiency.
• Ensure tooling uptime and availability to meet quality, schedule and cost, and respond promptly to daily tooling issues affecting yield and quality.
• Optimize spare inventory between availability and holding cost, and communicate on equipment reliability, root cause analysis and corrective or preventive actions.
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow all safety procedures.

Required profile

• Chemical Engineering diploma or degree with related experience.
• Knowledge and experience working with chemicals.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Required skills

• Operating PH/Conductivity, Tensiometer, UV Vis, Nanotrac, LCMS, GCMS, ICP OES and other analytical lab equipment.
