Firmware Engineer - SSD

About the role

Micron is looking for a Firmware Engineer focused on SSD products. The role develops and tests firmware IP subsystems for SSD products and runs firmware unit and functional tests, ensuring quality, functionality and performance throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop firmware IP subsystems for SSD products that meet or exceed the technical specification matrix, covering performance, endurance, capacity, functionality and quality/reliability.
• Develop firmware unit and functional tests that ensure the firmware subsystem meets quality, functional and performance requirements at each integration milestone.
• Communicate regularly with management, multi-functional team members and the firmware team, including project status updates.
• Build collaborative relationships with peers and management, and support team and personal development.
• Use AI to streamline workflows, optimise processes and enable data-driven decisions across projects and teams.

Required profile

• Masters or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• At least 2 years or equivalent experience in embedded systems development.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience working with storage interfaces (PCIe/NVMe) is considered a plus; NAND experience is an advantage.

Required skills

• Firmware and embedded programming, primarily in C, and debugging.
• Experience with storage interfaces such as PCIe/NVMe is a plus.
