Firmware Engineer - SSD

About the role

Micron Technology is hiring a Firmware Engineer to provide the technical capability for creating and integrating firmware IP used in SSD products. The work covers the product development lifecycle, from inception to obsolescence, and includes supporting the development and quality assurance processes so that firmware consistently meets the required functionality, usability, quality, reliability, performance and supportability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop firmware IP subsystems for SSD products that meet or exceed the technical specification matrix, covering performance, endurance, capacity, functionality and quality/reliability.
• Develop firmware unit and functional tests to ensure each subsystem meets quality, functional and performance requirements at every integration milestone.
• Communicate regularly with management, multi-functional teams and the firmware team about project status and activities.
• Build collaborative relationships with peers and management, and support the continuous improvement of team and personal technical and communication skills.

Required profile

• Masters or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics or Computer Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in embedded systems development.
• Excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with firmware/embedded programming.
• Storage interfaces such as SATA, SAS and PCIe are an advantage.
• NAND experience is an advantage.
