Flight Operations Inspector

About the role

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is seeking a Flight Operations Inspector to provide safety oversight for Singapore’s air operators, flight crews and general aviation activities. You will help shape aviation safety standards, support regulatory development and contribute to a positive safety culture across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Approve and conduct surveillance of Singapore and foreign air operators, aviation training organisations, and flight‑simulation training devices.
• Assess and monitor safety management systems (SMS) of air operators to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Oversee industry safety performance and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Participate in investigations of aviation incidents and accidents.
• Collaborate with international partners and safety experts on cross‑border safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Valid Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), preferably with an endorsed Flight Instructor Rating, or equivalent flight‑operations management appointment.
• Minimum 5,000 hours of air‑transport pilot experience on civil or comparable military aircraft.
• Experience in civil aviation management, regulatory work, or pilot training is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to advancing aviation safety.
• Singapore citizens, permanent residents or foreign nationals are eligible.
