Intern - Assembly NPI (AI-Enabled Manufacturing)

About the role

Micron is looking for an intern in its New Product Manufacturing department in Singapore, under the project "AI-Enabled Manufacturing Analytics and Productivity Automation". The intern applies AI, generative AI, data analytics and automation to selected manufacturing processes, guided by experienced engineers and business stakeholders. High-performing interns may be considered for future full-time opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate New Product Manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for AI-enabled analytics or workflow automation.
• Define requirements, data inputs, business rules and intended outcomes for the chosen use case.
• Develop a proof of concept with intelligent data processing, dashboard development, reporting automation or AI-assisted decision workflows.
• Create visualizations for operational metrics, work-in-process visibility, risk monitoring, alerts or trend analysis.
• Measure the prototype's productivity, efficiency and decision-making benefits against project indicators.
• Deliver an opportunity assessment, a functional proof of concept, an interactive dashboard or productivity tool, technical documentation, a user guide, a business-impact assessment and a final presentation.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics or a related field.
• Ability to commit to a full-time internship of at least 5 months.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation and stakeholder-engagement skills.
• Preferred: experience with Generative AI, machine learning, chatbots, dashboards or process automation, familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, and exposure to manufacturing, semiconductor or digital-transformation projects.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of AI, generative AI, prompt engineering and AI-enabled workflows.
• Data analytics, data visualization, Python or SQL.
• Familiarity with Excel and tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Power Automate, Power Apps or SharePoint.
