Intern - STPG PE Firmware (SSD Test Firmware & AI Tools)

About the role

Micron's Storage Technology Product Group, Product Engineering Firmware team in Singapore is looking for an intern to work on Manufacturing Test Firmware for Solid-State Drive test and validation environments. Under engineer guidance, the intern develops firmware features, evaluates test coverage and applies AI tools to code generation, validation, log analysis and failure investigation. The internship runs for 5 months, from January to May 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Translate manufacturing-test requirements into firmware designs and test methods.
• Develop and validate firmware features using C, C++, Python or relevant embedded-development tools.
• Apply an AI assistant or generative AI to code generation, review, test automation and validation.
• Analyze manufacturing or product-return data to identify trends and test-coverage opportunities.
• Develop or evaluate an Agentic AI workflow for firmware debugging, log analysis or failure investigation.
• Deliver a validated firmware feature or prototype, test results, an AI-enabled prototype and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Ability to commit to a full-time 5-month internship (January to May 2027).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and project-management skills.
• Interest in Generative AI, Large Language Models and AI-assisted development tools.

Required skills

• Programming in C, C++ or Python, or firmware/embedded systems development.
• Familiarity with PCIe or storage interfaces is advantageous.
