IT Service Management Intern

About the role

A motivated and detail-oriented IT Service Management (ITSM) intern is sought to join the IT team. The intern supports ITSM processes, tools and functions so that IT services are delivered efficiently and effectively, with hands-on exposure to the field.

Key responsibilities

• Asset management: maintain accurate records of IT hardware and software, support the asset lifecycle (procurement, receiving, deployment, transfer, return, disposal), run inventory checks, audits and reconciliations, track software licenses and liaise with stakeholders, vendors and the service desk.
• ITSM tool support: support ITSM tools and platforms such as ServiceNow, and help with user training and onboarding.
• Reporting and analytics: coordinate, consolidate, generate and distribute regular reports on ITSM metrics and KPIs, and assist in analysing IT service performance data.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Basic understanding of ITSM principles (e.g. ITIL framework).
• Availability to start between January and June 2027; full-time position.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of ITIL v4 or earlier versions, and familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow is a plus.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, and basic knowledge of scripting or programming languages.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure components such as servers, networks and databases.
