Laboratory Analyst (1 Year Contract)

About the role

GSK is looking for a Laboratory Analyst on a 1-year contract to support the Analytical Chemist / Microbiologist. You will analyse utilities (water, environmental and compressed gas), process raw materials, factory samples, intermediates and finished products, and record results in full compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements. You will also support non-order fulfilment activities needed to resolve process and method issues and introduce new measurement technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse raw materials, factory samples, intermediates, final products, utility microbiological monitoring, non-order and NCE fulfilment activities according to quality requirements.
• Keep instruments in good working order, reagents and reference standards within expiry, and ensure documents meet regulatory standards.
• Operate laboratory software such as the Corporate ERP system, LIMS and Empower, and keep training records up to date.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment through 6S inspections.

Required profile

• GCE O'Level or A-Level in relevant subjects, or a Diploma in Chemical Process Technology or Applied Chemistry.
• At least 2 years of experience in an analytical environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry; fresh graduates are welcome.
• Openness to a 12-hour shift pattern.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of GMP and GLP, and of analytical techniques, equipment and microbiological testing.
• Understanding of product specifications and methods of analysis.
• Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, CDS, LIMS and the Corporate ERP system.
• Good communication, teamwork, problem-solving and investigation skills.
