Large Format Manufacturing Development Engineer

About the role

HP is looking for a Large Format Manufacturing Development Engineer in Singapore. The engineer leads the mechanical and electromechanical subsystems of large format printers, working closely with cross-functional teams and manufacturing partners to ensure quality and cost in shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with GBU R&D and manufacturing partner factory teams to deliver large format printer products ready for customer shipment.
• Own and drive printer product sub-systems so that product and process engineering performance meets specifications and functional requirements.
• Provide fast support to factory build issues and escalations related to product performance in owned sub-systems.
• Support NPI and CPE activities to meet program and business needs.
• Take part in product prototyping builds locally or at GBU sites, giving DFx input and helping transfer product and process knowledge.
• Drive and implement change management at manufacturing partner factories to meet product and process engineering requirements.
• Work with GBU and support partners to resolve product and process engineering issues in a timely way.
• Respond to post-MR field escalations and customer feedback to ensure satisfaction and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Operations to improve cost, quality and factory productivity, and manage the manufacturing partner against factory performance metrics and goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or a related field, or demonstrated competence.
• 4-6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a hands-on approach.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency according to program schedule.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Results oriented, learning agile and customer centric.

Required skills

• Good GD&T fundamentals and mechanical skills.
• Electrical and electronic skills are good to have.
• Digital fluency including AI skills.
