Lead Water & Climate Adaptation Expert, APAC

About the role

Ramboll, a global architecture, engineering and consultancy company founded in Denmark, is looking for a mid-senior Lead Water & Climate Adaptation Expert for its Asia Pacific office in Singapore. The role suits someone with strong technical expertise in climate adaptation and water resilience, who can engage clients, contribute to strategic advisory work and help shape solutions for cities and communities across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, hydrologists, GIS specialists and environmental experts, and share knowledge within Ramboll's water, climate and sustainability communities.
• Present technical findings clearly to clients and build trust-based relationships with government agencies, development partners and private-sector clients.
• Coordinate workshops, consultations and co-creation sessions with stakeholders.
• Ensure project deliverables meet industry standards, guidelines and client specifications.
• Identify business development opportunities, prepare proposals and take part in client presentations, working with the business development team.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers, lead project teams and foster an inclusive, innovative environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Science or a related field; a Master's is advantageous.
• Typically 15-18 years of experience in climate adaptation, water resilience or integrated water planning.
• Demonstrated experience in climate-risk or water-management studies in urban or coastal contexts.
• Track record of supporting proposals or business development activities.
• Experience in Southeast Asia or APAC markets is an advantage.

Required skills

• Familiarity with climate-hazard modelling concepts (hydrological, hydraulic, coastal).
• Ability to turn technical analysis into clear recommendations for policymakers and clients.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
