Legal Adviser – Media & Digital Business

About the role

The Legal Adviser will provide comprehensive legal support to the media business unit, with a focus on the fast‑growing regional digital media operations. This mid‑level position offers the opportunity to own a broad portfolio of commercial, regulatory and contentious matters across Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements related to content acquisition, production, distribution, M&A, subscription, advertising, sales, marketing and IP development.
• Manage contentious matters and liaise with external counsel, government authorities and other stakeholders.
• Provide legal, regulatory and strategic advice for existing and potential new markets.
• Support senior management and the Senior Group Legal Adviser on media‑related initiatives.
• Interact independently with internal teams and external parties to ensure compliance with regional regulations.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 6–8 years of post‑qualification experience in an internationally recognised jurisdiction or in‑house environment.
• Strong drafting and negotiation abilities and solid knowledge of media‑related legal issues.
• Experience advising on media, digital content, M&A and regulatory matters in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Chinese proficiency required, Cantonese an advantage.
• Effective communication, stakeholder management and the ability to work autonomously.
