Legal, Compliance and Governance Officer

About the role

Our client, a growing fund management firm in Singapore, is seeking a seasoned Legal, Compliance and Governance Officer. The role will reinforce the firm’s legal, compliance and governance framework as it expands.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full contract lifecycle, including tracking, filing, renewal and maintenance of legal documents.
• Coordinate with external counsel, provide instructions, monitor timelines and control costs.
• Review, markup and negotiate contracts, NDAs, service agreements and other legal documentation.
• Identify key legal and commercial issues and escalate appropriately.
• Conduct legal research on applicable laws and regulatory matters.
• Support and maintain the compliance framework in line with regulatory requirements.
• Update compliance policies, procedures and manuals; conduct monitoring and testing.
• Assist the AML/CFT framework with policy development and ongoing monitoring.
• Prepare board and committee meeting materials, agendas and minutes; coordinate logistics.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in legal, compliance or governance within a regulated financial services firm.
• A law degree or Master of Law is preferred; equivalent experience with a related degree will be considered.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage a broad remit across legal, compliance and governance functions.
• Comfortable engaging with AI tools critically and constructively as part of day‑to‑day work.
