Legal Counsel – Banking & Finance

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel specialized in banking and finance to join our Singapore headquarters. The successful candidate will provide expert legal guidance to support the bank’s commercial activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Advise internal stakeholders on banking and finance transactions, including loan agreements, securities, and structured finance deals.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents related to financial services.
• Monitor and interpret relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards to mitigate legal risk.
• Support dispute resolution and liaise with external counsel when necessary.
• Collaborate with business units to align legal strategies with commercial objectives.

Required profile

• Admission to the Singapore Bar.
• Minimum of 7 years post‑qualification experience handling banking and finance matters at a reputable law firm.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑intensity environment.
• Strong commercial judgment and sound legal reasoning.
• Team‑player attitude with a high level of efficiency and work ethic.
